Outdoor Fun for Mississauga Kids Print E-mail

Mississauga Kids Enjoy playing out doors!Spring has finally sprung in Mississauga!  The days are warmer and the flowers are blooming!  It’s a great time to plan some fun engaging outdoor activities with your Mississauga Kids! Click "Read More" for some fun ideas for out door play!

Some fun examples of Spring and Summer Activities to enjoy with your children:

Rock Walk – take your child on a community walk to collect rocks.  After bringing them home, paint and decorate them for display in your own home.

Exploring Worms – with magnifying glasses in hand, explore your backyard or local park for worms and take a look at them up close!  How many eyes do they have?  Do they have any legs?  How long do they become when you encourage them to stretch to their full potential?!

Planting Seeds – collect a selection of seeds and plant them with your children.  How long do they take to sprout?  Do some grow faster than others?

Water Painting – using buckets of water, supply your child with paint brushes, paint rollers and sponges!  “Painting” the outside has never been so much fun!

Ride an Airplane to Hawaii! – Using boxes/lawn chairs etc., help your child build an airplane that will take you all the way to Hawaii right in your own backyard!  Complete your visit with water play, leis, special snacks and music.  If this offers excitement, you may wish to try somewhere else in the world the very next day!

Say "Howdy" to a Farmer! - the Farmers Markets in Mississauga offer a great chance for kids to connect with where their food comes from.  Picky Eaters can become enthusiastic veggie lovers when you make it fun!

Watch a Butterfly – Gently find and collect a caterpillar.  Using a jar that you’ve poked a few holes in, add some grass and sticks and watch the caterpillar transform itself into a beautiful butterfly

Take some time and enjoy these activities and the outdoors with your Mississauga Kids.  Make a memory!

Neighbourhood Nursery School & Day Care Centre

Neighbourhood Nursery’s students enjoy fun in the sun, exploring the world around them during frequent nature walks around Lake Aquitaine. Smaller class sizes allow for more individualized time between teacher and student.  Teachers are able to offer their students time to work on their more challenged areas to ensure they are ready for their graduation into grade one at the Board of Education.  Neighbourhood Nursery is currently accepting registrations for the 2009 Mississauga Summer Camp Season as well as the academic term beginning in September 2009.
