On Monday 21st September 2009, Montessori Works participated in the International Peace Day. At 11:00 a.m. Montessori Works was a link to spreading peace across the world amidst many schools internationally.

For this celebration at Montessori Works the students came together to light the candle and sing the song. The curriculum at Montessori Works puts emphasis on Peace education to overcome bullying issues and uncertainties that unfortunately prevail around us. They believe that every individual needs inner peace and confidence to deal with peer pressure. Better communication and positive interaction with peers helps manifest good discipline.

At Montessori Works they offer multi - age group setting which helps children to learn to interact with all ages. They encourage the students to learn from each other by working together.  MontessoriWorks staff is trained to encourage peer learning and focus on the child’s self-esteem and independence.

The celebration was conducted in the multi- purpose room where a globe was placed in the center, the students sat around it and sang the Peace song. The staff helped to light the candle and at the end of the day the parents were encouraged to take the candle home. Montessori Works believes in building a community spirit creating unity amongst all.
