Celebrate at City Centre on Wed. July 1 from 1:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Mayor Hazel will preside over the opening ceremonies at 1:00. There will be Live entertainment with Mike Bullard hosting the Main Stage featuring Hotel California, Marshall Dane, Kreesha Turner, and Sloan. Mississauga Kids will enjoy Bob the Builder, craft and activity zones, glass, pottery and woodworking demonstrations, face painting, dancing and more! Port Credit will be holding it’s annual Paint the Town Red Celebration for July 1. Opening Day Ceremonies that place at the corner of Wenonah Ave. and Lakeshore Rd. E. with an O Canada sing a long with Carol McCartney and a cake cutting ceremony at 2:00. There will be music all day at Memorial Park followed by fireworks in the evening. The Village of Streetsville is celebrating Canada Day on Wednesday from 6 – 11 pm at the Vic Johnston Arena and Memorial Park. At 6pm there will be a procession lead by the Streetsville Pipes & Drums & Colored Party and the Streetsville Cadet Corp followed with the Singing of O'Canada. Mayor Hazel will preside over the cake cutting ceremony at 7 pm. Throughout the evening there will be various children activities available to keep the little ones happy; clowns, face painting, fishing pond, crafts, tattoos, and surprise costume characters. The Rotary will also be on hand with their BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs and this year to support our troops a message board will be available for everyone to sign a personal message for the men and women in Afghanistan.
